A little required reading and nutritional counseling in NYC

Kitty and I are pouring over this book, which was recommended by a friend, before we start: “The Complete Master Cleanse: A Step-by-Step Guide to Maximizing the Benefits of The Lemonade Diet”.

I would definitely recommend it to others because its easy to read and the man speaks from experience. He was a student of Stanley Burroughs, who originally devised the cleanse, and has done the master cleanse literally more than 100 times. That’s a lot of cleansing!

Yesterday Kitty and I went to have a free nutrition counseling session in New York City. It was really informative, and I’m quite glad that we went. We both want to make sure that we’re doing the best we can for our bodies. We got a lot of advice and comments on the topics of diet, supplementation, and detoxification. The counselor was definitely into natural therapies, but didn’t seem so hot on the master cleanse for us as individuals. Perhaps she would be more enthusiastic about it for someone with a specific condition, but then again maybe not. She did say that it “wouldn’t hurt you” but seemed to prefer other more precise detoxification methods. I was glad to hear this perspective as I strive to be open minded so that I can continue to learn. However, I am still planning on going ahead with the cleanse. I feel like I could use a period of detoxification mentally, spiritually and emotionally. I think this process could be quite renewing and lead to better health and harmony in my life. Additionally, I feel that there are people in my life who could benefit from a cleansing process. If I can lead by example, perhaps they could also enjoy better health and well being. For these reasons, I am still set to go through with the 10 day cleanse starting on Wednesday.
