This morning is the morning of the first day of my cleanse. Less than 10 hours ago I was eating solid food, but now not for another 10 (at least) days! I’m just finishing the salt water wash at the moment. For those of you that have done or have read up on the cleanse, you know that a laxative herbal tea and a salt water ‘wash’ (drink 32 oz warm water with 2 tsp sea salt) are required. I’ve chosen to do the tea each night, and the salt water in the morning. I started these aspects of the cleanse before actually going off solid food because I wanted to ‘get acquainted’ with them first. You never know how your body is going to react to these things, and everyone’s different. So I found that two bags of the senna tea seems to be the right dose, and that the regular recommended recipe for the salt water bath also seems to do the trick. I’ll taking my first sip of the lemonade mixture in a few minutes. Can’t wait!
I’m really going into this cleanse with a lot of excitement and anticipation. Some people have seemed surprised when I shared this with them. For me, health has become a central interest in my life. The more I understand about health and well being, the more I want to take and understand the knowledge for myself. After reading several books by Dr. Weil, especially “Spontaneous Healing”, I believe that our bodies have an incredible potential to heal themselves without medical intervention. Rather if we can only focus our minds, get the appropriate nutrients, and apply the correct natural and non-toxic remedies, we can be well continuously. I believe that this cleanse will be quite healing for me. I do not feel that I have pronounced ailments to overcome, but better and more vibrant health to attain. Further I hope that by doing this cleanse I may serve as inspiration or example to others who may share my same goals of better health and wellness.
All this excitement and vision before taking that first sip of lemonade!
